This painting was painted from life depicting the stove inside my house. The stove recently was replaced after this painting, but it had been at least 25 years old by this time. On the stove is my mom's cow tea pot and a mug. I was also drawn to the nostalgia of these objects, and the overall run down feeling they have. Parts of this painting are left blank or "unfinished" intentionally. I'm interested in exploring a painting that shares it's a painting. In this piece, that's why parts are blank.
