This painting features another artist local to Rochester; a fashion designer and musician. He is standing in a tree. This painting is 80" tall, and with the perspective he is looking down at us from in a tree, we feel like we are indeed standing in front of a giant. 
 
To "stand on the shoulder's of giants" implies we are being supported by great people who came before us. In this painting he is also standing on a massive tree; giant to us. Maybe he is held up by the history of the people around us. Held up by the tree, a symbol of nature.
