I love patterns and this painting is all about stripes!
 
I've had that sock monkey for years on a shelf and one day I thought about it for a really long time. 
 
Originally, the figure in this painting was going to be nude and it was going to be a confrontation between childhood and adulthood. However, I decided the more stripes the better and added this striped shirt (and technically the underwear is striped as well).
 
As a result, this painting is more fun and silly than my other work, but still explores the idea of identity. For the figure, sock monkey, and stripes.
