"Realities of a Suburban Painter" (2026) Oil and printer paper on canvas. ~42"x46"

In this piece I printed out many of my rejection letters (which all cost money to apply to). People say to not give up and keep at it, yet the hundreds of dollars I pay each year in application fees to be in shows I don't get selected for is extremely frustrating, not worth it, and a representative of a system that aims to exploit artists.... not to mention nice galleries take 30% and commercial galleries often take 50% of the sale price! Being in the suburbs as well is isolating. With no larger or more reputable galleries like to show at like in big cities, suburban artists are left paying to play and forgotten.

On demand prints available upon request.
