"Portrait of an Irrelevant Suburban Artist" (2026) Oil on canvas. 24"x36"
This small painting is a self-portrait of me as an artist that lives in the suburbs. I'm wearing overalls reminiscent of Jackson Pollock and depicted in the process of painting flowers. The title informs the meaning. A comment on the institution of the Art world. Artists who live in the suburbs and paint flowers are basically irrelevant to the contemporary art scene. Yet I am also an artist that loves painting flowers.
